Nielson Family Snow Day

If you want a bigger picture click on the image.....Ashlee and Spencer came down for the Christmas Holiday, and they kept us quite busy....we went out four wheeling on Friday and I got the bageebees scared out of me...but I am a sucker for punishment cuz Saturday we took about 15 of the Grand kids and parents and went out to the Coral Pink Sand dunes and did some serious snow stuff (mainly pulling everyone out of the snow) thank Heavens Eddie decided to take the jeep...I think we more than got our money's worth out of his wench. We left about 9:30 am and didn't get home until about 6:00 pm....I think the kids got their fill of snow for this year!!! I didn't think I would ever get warm again.

Here Come's Santa Clause...

Every year santa comes for Emma's birthday- it is great fun. The pictures are tiny so click on the image to view it bigger- 17 of the 20 grandchildren were there and that is a lot to fit on one page. Justin & Jenn were at a Haslem party. The cousins did their Chrsitmas gift exchange. On Saturday we were supposed to enjoy Wyatt's traditional Caroling Hayride with John's mule team but it was freezing so we we were happy to stay inside and eat Kim's soups and sing to Wyatt. The kids were not too disappointed since at the end of the party it started to snow- our first snow. The kids ran around in the tiny snow flusters and the freeszing cold wind. Happy Birthday Emma & Wyatt!!!

Christmas Tree trip

We went the Saturday after Thanksgiving to cut down our Christmas trees....We harvested nine trees....We're not sure who got the Griswald tree this year, maybe nobody...all of them were really pretty. It was cold and windy, but no snow this year. Then we went to lunch at Burger Bar...It was warmer down off the mountain so we ate outside.

Emily's Baptism

Emily was baptised on the 25th of October by her dad. She had a wonderful day other than the fact that she had a fever of 101. The tylonol worked up until the last guest left our house then she felt pretty mellow the rest of the day.

The Championship Game

Josh's 5th grade football team played Saturday for the Championship.....It was a really exciting game....the Hurricane Tigers started out a little on the slow side...7-0.....other teams favor......Hurricane finally made a touchdown but didn't make the extra point, putting the score at 7-6 I was a little worried when the other team scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter making the score 13-6 with only 8 minutes left in the game. When they kicked the ball to us after thier touchdown, a small kid on the Tiger team caught it and ran the full field making a touchdown! The score was tied.......the other team had the ball, and only about 5 minutes left in the game.......I figured we wouldn't have the time to score again especially since the other team had the ball.....but Hurricane managed to hold them......and gained control of the ball...... scoring their winning touchdown 20-13..... They got some really cool trophy's.. He'll have a full story with more pictures on his blog. Check it out and he'd feel really great if you all left him a comment. joshuamnielson@blogspot.com What's up with the rest of you all....I'd like to hear what's going on with everyone.....Still haven't seen any pictures of the Gardiner Grand baby on here yet.

NIELSON NEWS

Just to let you know we have had tons of birthdays the month of October. Emmy was baptized. Julie and Adam had their baby girl about three weeks early...She weighed 6'10 and was 18 1/2" long....she has coal black hair, and has enough to actually style. We think she looks like Tanner. Her name has been Brooklyn Anne (Julie's middle name is Anne) since they found out they were having a girl. I guess you all heard that Lisa was almost 3 months pregnant, but had a miscarriage...seems like sometimes you get the good and the bad all in the same week. Lots going on.
The deer hunt was pretty unsuccessful....(yeah) oops did I say that out loud.....the camping was great and the weather was wonderful....the cousins had a ball playing in the dirt.
Wish we could have been there for your Anniversary Mom & Dad.....but we were thinking about you and wishing we could be to dinner with all you guys.
Does anyone know if Shelley's family knows the blog information, I haven't seen any posts from any of her family.....this was her idea and since I don't hear much about their family, I would really like to have them post what is going on with all her bunch...I tried to call her the other day, but didn't get her, so if anyone hears from her will you check to see if she got my email that had all the blog information on it.
H-e-l-l-o Tonja, what's up with you, I thought this being your first grand baby.....we'd have the family blog full of pictures....This is our #20 and I'm still bragging! What the heck!!!

Staci & Daves Wedding

Hey,
Since we weren't able to attend the wedding, we would sure like to see some pictures on the blog.....CONGRATULATIONS Staci and Dave! Give us an update on how things went.
Also we did the family camping/deer hunt.....the weather was beautiful, however, the success rate was......ah pretty much zero. We did find something they called indian marbles, thay are black rocks.....many of them shaped just like marbles....We missed you dad but understand you were where you needed to be.....
I've been wearing a heart monitor for a week now, and I haven't had one episode, so hopefully whatever was causing the problem, has fixed itself....the MRSA staph infections has been squashed finally.....that was a real ride, but everyone seems to be pretty much back to normal.....whatever normal is......
Congradulations Angies & Tyler on your new addition.....he's a handsome one, looks like Boston we decided......we should be getting ours here next month.
We celebrated 3 of our grandkids birthdays this last week, Noah 10, Emmy 8, & Rylee 2. Emmy will be baptized on Oct. 25th, and Josh will turn 11 on Oct. 29th. He also received his arrow of light....and yes I am a proud grandma.
Well I Hope everyone else is doing super....We love you...Randee

Are we ungrateful Americans

This was one of those emails I got from a friend of mine who is a marine and is currently serving as a fire chief in Las Vegas. This was apparently written by Jay Leno.

"As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark. The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right?

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?'' A.. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week?B.. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter?C.. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?E.. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? F.. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?G.. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either. H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital. I.. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. J.. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames, thus saving you, your family, and your belongings. K.. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss.L.. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers. M.. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world?Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy.Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day. Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig.So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane! Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as country. There is exponentially more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.' 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, 'Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

Adam called me the day Grandpa got out of the hospital. When I asked him where he was at, he said at MCdonalds with Gramps. Hey, gramps don't ya think you ought to go easy on them double cheese burgers eh.....................

FREE STUFF HERE! GET YOUR FREE STUFF!

Hey all-

I'm so glad the Neilsons started this. Great idea. I wanted to tell everyone that I have my own blog where I do give aways every Friday and sometimes during the week. People contact me because I have a lot of readers and they offer to give away some of their products if I plug their shop on my blog. I am telling all my friends and family so they can put their names in. I want people I know to win! I've got some really great things to give away over the next few weeks. I have an email list of people who want to be reminded on give away days, if you would like to be added to that let me know.
This weekend I'm giving away a Happy Birthday banner and some hair ties. Just get your name in before Monday. Good Luck!

If you want to link to my blog - here is a sidebar graphic. Just save it to your computer, add to your sidebar and link it back to http://www.suaviloquy.blogspot.com/.

This is such a great idea!! Good job!
Love,
